I had a model 600 in 6mm Remington. My grandfather gave me the choice over that and a pre-64 model 70 in .243. I chose the Remington because I like the vent rib, half bolt, barrel length and I thought the giant front blade made it look more balanced than the plain barrel of the M70. I was just a stupid kid.

To continue on that note, I sold the rifle for a ferry ticket to Alaska to work a hill net boat for a summer.

I still have the .243 though.
