I know it's early. Really early as my wife's tomatoes from seed-saving are now a couple inches tall and indoors.

But, we have already eaten two really nice artichokes off of our outdoor plant. There are at least two more 'chokes on the way. Thses are the standard softball-sized 'chokes.

I also started some seeds of an Italian variety. Looks like there are a half-dozen flowers coming but they are golfball size and looks as if the flower will be blood red. How do you prepare these?

Peas and snap peas are up. Also spinach and onions and lettuce. Beets are carrots just started to show with this past week's warm weather. Planted green beans and more carrots yesterday. Never tried to grow artichokes. I don't have a large garden, just a couple raised beds. I'll buy tomato starts at the market in a week or two.

Pulled my artichoke plant out this last fall, it literally got too big. Last 3 years I've harvested 20-28 chokes off of it and only ate a few of them.

Planted this last week, the basics... Walla Walla's, Tomatoes, Zukes, Green Beans, Peas and beets plus transferred and spread out some garlic that was a hold over from last year... Will put some pepper plants in next month when the night time low's hold a little higher.

I have a raised bed and some pots. Planted some snow peas not many came up. Forgot the trick is to germinate inside with wet paper towels. Have some leaf lettuce and cabbage. Replanted some strawberries. My wife has an indoor hydroponic planter in the garden window. Harvested some Romaine lettuce a few weeks ago so need to replant some pods. I'll put some peppers and tomatoes in next month.

Pruned the cherry, peach, pear, and apple trees.

Used to have a big vegetable patch but put in a fire pit.
