the wind today blew a tree down and it landed on 3 or 4 power lines, caused a massive 3 alarm fire, multiple water and retardant choppers, 5 crews were up top with 3 down on our level...

came to within about 75 ish yards from the back of the houses here, was honestly scared there for a second, its still not out, they still have choppers flying but its more up on the top of the hill and CPF&R have done an excellent job of getting it out... its not totally out yet but getting there...

they brought in several large skid loaders to create the fire lines, it jumped across several roads, but it looks to be a lot better than what it was...

what a fvckin day...

yeah it was crazy, they had Central Pierce, East Pierce, Gig Harbor, Pierce County Sheriffs , Eatonville Sheriffs, DNR, and PSE out here getting it under control...

theres still a little smoke coming up, but its pretty much out for the most part...

hopefully there isnt any flare ups tonight, Central said there would be someone here over night to monitor... all roads out are still blocked, but we have an access down a private road down the street...

now that i say that, they are spraying water on the area that is right back behind our houses again...

im gonna go see what is going on...

the land owner had both his legs amputated so he coudnt come out, i talked to him on the phone... they logged it and left the scraps, in a hugely populated area...

now, its 5 foot tall grass, scotchbroom, and blackberries... actually now, its burnt dirt...


i have never seen anything like that with fire resources, it was incredible....

Looking at Mount Rainier today, there appeared to be a huge mushroom cloud just to the north of the Mountain. Appeared to be one huge fire flaring up.

Yes - we got a great look at that too, but the fire maps aren't showing anything? Twas' big. We were driving south down 5 to go to the M's game and there were (3) fires along the way. A brush fire immediately along 5 which fvckerd' traffic; a house fire up on the hill in SLU and that big mushroom cloud north of Rainer.

When I lived in Seattle circa 09-10 there was a giant weed bust under I-5. And always I laughed at the town being named white center. Cause it was certainty not a white center.
