I have been fishing for a couple of years but to no avial of any fish. I know there is fish running from all your posts and they all seem to keep hiding from me.
Where Do I find the little rascals?
Is hiring a guide someplace for me to get started? Can any one recommend a guide in the Portland area that they have experienced?
I live really close to the Sandy river, Is there any fish in there?? Is a guide with a sled better than a drift boat?? I like the Idea of drifting down the river. Thank's for all the help. Smily

Jack Smith is supposed to be the man on the Sandy. He owns Jack's Snack and Tackle right there at the mouth. Numbers in the phone book-his wife is usually there(looker) so she will answer any questions for you. Try Fishermans Marine at Portland Meadows too. I have never used a guide on the Sandy but it would be a good idea if you're really new to the game.

Is Jack Smith The same as Jack Glass?
My Cousin caught a Steelhead with him last year on a half day sled boat guide and the other person caught a salmon. Don't remember which kind.

If you do not mind coming down to the coast (Newport area), I would be glad to take you fishing. I do not catch fish every trip (who does?) but I suppose I catch my share. This time of year I do a lot of Sturgeon fishing also. Let me know if you are interested.

Use the secret formula: TIME ON WATER = FISH
.....then.....
-Hookup with somebody that catches fish
-Observe and Duplicate (what consistantly works)
-Then the hardest thing of all "when you finally get it all together and it's working, "DON'T CHANGE THE RECIPIE"!!
--------------------------><>
also keep in mind that there is always an exception to the rule...GOOD FISHIN!
