The month of October will be a tidewater killing field with 22 calendar days of nets plugging the tidal Chehalis.... only 9 days net-free. Interestingly the cowboys will be fishing "in common with" the QIN for 3 of those 22 days. Each and every netting week starts on a Sunday at noon. November will fare a little better with only 16 calendar days of nets... two of which the cowboys will be fishing "in common with" the QIN Plan accordingly, folks. _________________________ "Let every angler who loves to fish think what it would mean to him to find the fish were gone." Each and every netting week starts on a Sunday at noon. There has been a couple of things going on. First the unofficial rule between the WDFW and QIN that is "everybody fishes or nobody fishes" . That is how we lost Dec Coho fishing over Steelhead returns and there are almost zero Steelhead in the Chehalis in Dec. It is a load of BS period. Then the incommon thing. I do not remember WDFW challenging the QIN on this in the past in a meaningful way. I have been told tribal position is no way which is what it has been for years. So WDFW's OBSESSION with NT nets comes front and center as WDFW tries to stuff more commercial netting time for NT's. It will be interesting to see what the QIN do but one thing is sure the REC fisher or the fish will not benefit. Meet the modern WDFW stuck in the 1970s post Boldt. _________________________ Dazed and confused.............the fog is closing in
