I'm not sure how sensitive folks are about chum spots, but I was thinking of trying for a family outing somewhere that included some chums around for the kids.

Not looking to do anything with lots of people.

The boys and mom have a good time catching coho off some quiet beaches we like on Whidbey, taking in the views, etc. And the 4 year old girl likes playing on driftwood and looking at little salt water creatures. I usually stay busy untangling lines and re-rigging rods.

Any spots in Hood Canal that might fit that kind of outing? (More solitude, even if less fish).

There are chum everywhere this year. The rivers, creeks and estuaries are full. Grays Harbor streams, Hood Canal streams and estuaries. Green River. Lots of opportunities. Big run this year.
