I'm looking for a guide to take my Dad and I down the Kalama or NF Lewis River during the third week of April for spring Chinooks. If anyone has any recommendations, please let me know.

My Dad will be visiting from the East Coast later this spring and I'd like to do some driftboat fishing with him. He taught me how to fish many years ago and he's not getting any younger. I'm not sure how many more times we'll be able to fish together since we're a thousand miles apart. But it'd be nice to take him down one of our beautiful rivers with a chance to hook into a springer. Any recommendations on a guide would be appreciated. Thanks.

I can relate to that brah. As my Dad lives many miles away and I appreciate any chance in the boat fishing or a round of golf. I guess its the "Cats in the Cradle" syndrome. I laugh when I take him fishing sometimes I start making comments like he did to me when I was a kid-"dont horse that fish in Dad" -"here let me get that knot out for ya".I have no answer for a guide service though-but wish you and Dad good fortune!

Hey,
I got to take my dad for a run on the Bogachiel last summer. The Old fart still out-fished me. Even so, it was pretty rewarding.
Sorry, I dont know much about river chinook fishing, OR the Kalama. I'd volunteer. But you know what?? My Brother does.
If you dont have much luck with the guides, e-mail me and we'll talk about it.

HI: try Harvey at rips some lips guide service. He floats the Kalama often and is an excellent guide. 360-750-8707. He does springers on the Kalama. You won't be disappointed.
