I was wondering how tough the float is from Cook Creek or Schafer to the Hiway take out? I am a novice rower and would like to join a group floating this river, but don't want to be in over my head. Thanks for any help.

The rivers a real easy float, and its a long float from shafer to the highway. Good luck

Spooled, Give me a call and I'd be glad to give you directions. The upper East Fork has a coupla' tight spots that you should know about before drifting the Satsop.

I do know alot about the Satsop been fishing it for 25+ years and after this freshet goes through there should be some real nice fish in it but to get the best the Satsop has to offer you have to fish it late in the year in fact the later the better. If you don't like posting reports than don't that's your right but I don't have a problem with it and I don't have a problem following other boats on any river.

Keep posting like you 've been and you will keep doing just that.....following boats down the river.
Whats taken most of us years to learn ( like your'e self included )
Why do some people just keep giving it away,
when it starts to look like the Cowlitz ....you'll know why thats all
