I am planning a trip to the Grande Ronde with a buddy this weekend and was wondering if anyone has heard how the fishing is? I did hear that there were chuncks of ice floating down this past week but it had melted. I Also heard that the river is low but have not heard much about whether the fish are in and if they have been doing any good. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

Haven't heard to much on the Grand, but I have heard with all the low water they are getting some nice fish on the lower Clearwater. Fishing the deep holes and the fish a stacking up waiting for rain. I guess there is still some ice comming down the river also. That is where you will find all the guides fishing. Good Luck!

Check the WDFW fishing regs update page, which you can access at www.wa.gov/wdfw. They just upped the limit to three hatchery fish on the GR due to an unusually good return to the Cottonwood Creek Hatchery.

Must be something good going on over there.
