I had heard through two seperate buddies that someone had landed a hatchery summer run on the kalama that was 28-30 pounds. Rumor even said they had taken it to the game department to have it officially weighed, but I haven't seen any pictures of the fish. Has anyone heard this same story?? Can anyone provide any pictures???

I am the owner of Kalama River Bait & Tackle and I also was told of 28lb hatchery summer run but I have not seen a picture nor has the the Biologist who runs the steelhead program on this river. I was told by some of my costomers that they did indeed see a photo of the fish. If I get any more info I'll post it.

wouldnt surprise me a bit. I used to get at least one fish in the 20 -24 lb range every summer out of the Kalama flyfishing. Ther is a big starin of fishin there. Hopefully the runs will come back to the way they used to be.

It is true I have seen the photo 27lb.8oz as I recall. Prichards has the photo. Real nice bright one. It was about two weeks back.
