I have had good luck fishing spinners with anodized black blades. When I lost my lures it broke my heart and since I haven't been able to find anyone who sells the blades. Hopefully someone here can clue me into where I may be able to find some. It would be a big help.

Matt, if you don't turn anything up on a net search try calling BC Angling Post in Oregon City at 503-655-4161. They are the largest retail outlet spinner and spoon store I have heard of anywhere. It's amazing to walk into the place and see all the walls and shelves covered in every conceivable blade you could imagine. I would think they likely would ship credit card purchases, but I don't know. ...

Another thing you can try for a subdued colored blade for gin clear water is to use a pliers to hold copper or brass blades in a cigarette lighter flame and heat it until it turns a darker bronze. Then cool it and wipe off any loose carbon.

Mortac sells black oxide blades that look great for a flat black finish. For more of an anodized/metallic look there is a paint called "Spike-it" that produces a kill finish on blades spoons and plugs. It dries quick and holds up great.

I originally found a lure made by Elk Horn Mfg. in Encampment, WY. The lure I lost came from this company. I am try to rebuild something similiar to this lure. Thanx for the help, now I might have a chance. smile
