I'm wondering if anyone here has used any of the topo maps on CD-ROM, like the DeLorme ones, or others.
I'm also especially interested in the BSB nautical charts on CD-ROM... do they work well?
I'd like to get some input before shelling out cash for these... since the topos are like $50 a piece, and the BSB's are $200 a piece.

You may want to look at the MapTech CD's. I have one and have been very impressed with it. They have a web site so you may want to do some research. WWW.maptech.com laugh

Thanks, about the MapTech info, do you know if they have a demo CD? (.ie something I can look at without paying $50 first?

O.K., here's a further, far out request... anyone know of any of these things that will run on a Mac?

I have the topo (Entire US) software for a garmin emap. I'm relatively happy with this because it has both land navagation and marine. It does not have the tides which would be nice. The problem I have is that the unit I have only has a 8 mg chip and you can't download much of the data ( a few counties). You can get a bigger chip, but there very expensive. I gues Garmin has a new version called WAAS 76 that is waterproof and has the tides built in. These units change fast with more stuff for the $$.
