The Deschutes has been sporadic, a good day here and a bad day there. The wind has been blowing steadily and fiercly. should calm down later in the season. Crowds are starting to show along with the fish. If you go you have a good chance of hooking a fish or two.
The Deschutes steelhead are easy fish any of your standard fly patterns will work. sizes 6-1/0
Purpil peril
Max canyon
signal lights
Bombers
Middlers
anything really just pick the flies you are confident in.

I talked to a buddy of mine last thursday and he said a friend of his was just up there and got 11. All on spinners though. If youre a hardware thrower then I would say get up there! The dam counts are awesome for this time of year and I would say it is going to get nothing but better!
