May be going down to fish the "Church Hole" Wed. & Thurs. so I was wondering what the report was? Also how deep have you been finding the fish? Thanks for the help.

Fished Friday and Saturday. Our boat (with 3 people each day) kept 15 hatchery silvers and 1 king. Released 3 or 4 wild fish and lost about 10. It was awesome fishing! Fish the incoming tide. The silvers were running at 12 to 18 feet (based the fish finder). Go a little deeper if you want kings. Good luck. You shouldn't have problems catching them. smile

Fished around the entrance to Chinook on Saturday morning got into a hot king bite. In 2 hours out of 3 rods we had 12 take downs. At one point I had my first chinook double going on. Kept are one king a piece and released 5 others. All kings weighed between 12 - 30 lbs. Got skunked on the coho though, stayed around the bridge on the incoming, coho didn't come up that far due to the warmwater conditions. Should be hot this weekend though with the rain.

Good luck!

Fished near Chinook, Ilwaco channel, and 10 on Saturday. Two native coho and that was it. Just not our day. Sunday, well thats another story. So was monday.

Ocean fished those days with 2 kings at 15#s and one king at 23#s. Lots of huge coho in the 10 to 14 lb range. Absolutley beautiful day on the ocean. Could not ask for better.

Hear it was nasty today. Take your rain gear!! and life jacket.

Fished today (Tuesday) out of Hammond. Limited on both Silvers and Chinook. Two Chinook about 30 pounds. The wind kicked up about 11:00 am, and everyone moved from up by the bridge to the Oregon side of the river near buoy 27. We didn't go near buoy 10 today, as the river was producing and it was nasty enough there. We caught 5 on the outgoing tide, trolling with the tide.

Good job Spooled!! Glad to hear you finally kept a couple of fish this year. Congradulations on your first time of not getting sick. That is a real plus for ya little feller.

Could you give us a little more information on what types of rigs you were using. Example: weighted trebble hooks with a buzz bomb or something like that. Just kidding.

One last jab though. Have you ever thought of taking a RB with you while you are asleep at the rod holder. Maybe that way you would'nt miss those 40#rs. Ha ha he he ho ho noooooooooooo.......... Flubby needs to get a wackin stick to keep you awake.

Again, nice job there in the river. See ya at the secret hole for STHD.

Freedrifter, Did you get to fish yesterday and today (wed&thurs) ? I was down also
and wow what a storm yesterday. we went out and fished around 27 for a bit and it
was unreal the way the wind was then the fact the rain came down sideways didn't
help either. We went to our hotel in long beach and played cards and drank beer,
that was a lot more productive smile Did get a few fish today but nothing spectacular
fished around 29 on down to 23 mostly, still blowing pretty good but nothing
compared to yesterday. That just takes al the fun out of it. We told one of our fishing partners to pick two days he could go and these were what he picked, Oh well I will be back down next week and hopefully the weather will be better smile

I'm also planning a trip to the Astoria area and I would appreciate a report. I'm a complete newbie to the area, so any advice would be appreciated. We're just plain tired of catchin' Mid-Columbia kings, so the wife and I thought we'd try for some fresh silvers, HELP??
