Hi Guys,

This will be my last trip up to Sekiu this year. I have had two cancelations, and am waiting on a third person to respond. Even if they go, that will be three on my boat, which is a perfect fit for it. You can come up for just a morning, an afternoon, or even fish Saturday and Sunday. I plan on only taking BIG fish. All leeeeetle guys will be released.

All you will need to bring is a good steelhead rod, (leave the trout rods at home) some large ball bearing swivels, and any food or comfort items. I will provide the rest. It is a drive, but you will not be disappointed in either numbers of fish caught or the size. Let me know as soon as you can. I leave tomorrow night around 6pm.

Andy

I wish you had posted this earlier yesterday! :(Now I have other commitments. (Fishing Possesion bar Sunday)

I would truly love to make it out there.

I haven't decided if I am going to partake in FIII as yet. If I do I might have an open seat. As the time comes closer I will make a decision.

Hey Andy,

I'm going to be bringing my own boat out there this weekend... what's your recommendations on where to launch, where to fish, etc.?

Every other time I've been out there, I've fished the Pillar Point area, not Sekiu proper.

Thanks in advance,

-N.

Sorry Gutz, I got the news last night, and I still haven't heard from Headhunter, so I may end up going alone. I plan on fishing Saturday and Sunday, so if you decide to head up, let me know. I know it is a bit of a run, but you will catch many more fish out where I am, and the average size should be bigger as well.

Hi Norman,

I usually launch at Coho because it is not very crowded, and because Rhonda is such a nice lady, the owner. The tide will be pretty mild tomorrow, so launch and takeout shouldn't be an issue. The charge is $5.00. I usually head straight out from Clallam Bay and have started dropping my gear once I hit the green can at Slip Point. There has been a lot of kelp crap in the water lately, and I run into less of it out there. Usually head out from there a mile or two just trolling, and once I find the schools I will run a racetrack pattern over them until I am done. I think I got out as far as 5 miles last weekend, but came in after seeing a few close calls in the shipping lanes. Lots of stupid Labor Day boaters.

I'll be the only guy in an 18' Seaswirl, blue stripe on white boat, gray top (might be down), named NEPENTHE (no worries). If anyone wants to head up, call me on my cell at 360-789-6055. I'll try not to drop my phone in the water like I did a few weeks ago. Thankfully I had insurance.

Andy

P.S. Even if you don't have a seat for Flotilla III, I would welcome anyone at this point. Just call me before you head up.

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

If you're wise, you'll take Andy up on his offer. I just got back from Sekiu, and omigod were there slivers there. In two days my buddy and I hooked 150+ silvers, pinks, and kings (mostly silvers). We didn't get any silvers bigger than 12 lbs, but at times we had 3 or 4 doubles in a half-hour. We landed pinks up to about 10 lbs, and my buddy landed a 30+ pound king while we were light-line mooching for silvers. What a blast! On Thursday night, right in front of the caves, you could hook silver after silver (smaller ones about 4-6 lbs) until it was stupid. My recommendation: GO THERE!

Dan,

Yup, you're right. The wise choice was to take Andy up on his offer, which I did! laugh

Thanks again Andy for the great time and for lettin' me outfish ya'! :p I'm looking forward to more successful outings with you. Hopefully sooner rather than later.

The fishin' was pretty sizzlin' for the 4-6 pounders. I hardly had time to drink my coffee for crying out loud! Give em' the weekend totals Andy. wink
