How should I store these fresh skeins until next weekend when I can get off the island? Borax..... If there is a grocery store on the island, they have borax. Your eggs won't turn a real bright red like they will with Pro-cure, but at least they'll be cured. Do not try to freeze the eggs if they are not cured, you'll ruin them.
