Does anyone know if the Snoqualmie summer run steelhead are all hatchery fish - or if there are wild fish mixed in as well?
I've caugth 2 this summer that both had adipose fins attached (I thought that all summer run fish on the snoqualmie were of hatchery origin). I'd like to save 1 for the BBQ, but I end up letting them go because I'm not sure...

Thanks for the info!

There are native fish that go up th tolt and raging. There are also wild fish which are second generation hatchery fish! And the bulk of the run upstream of the tolt are hatchery fish. I too have caught more wild or native fish this year than usual. Most the native fish of the tolt are small 4-7lbs.....but they jump like crazy. Hope this helps a little smile laugh smile

If you see that fin, let it go! It's the law, and the right thing to do. wink

Thanks for the info fellas. So the fish I'm catching have been in the 8 to 12lb range and have been above fall city. So sounds like they are the decendents of hatchery fish that reproduced in the river. Either way, those 'wild' fish have to be released. Thanks again for your input.
