Just wondering if anyone else out there did as good as I did this weekend.
Fished the Nooksack the last two days, both days catching 15 or more fish. One really nice 11 pound hen that I took home and bbq.

Just wanting to see if anyone else did any good,
Thanks,

I fished Thursday and Friday on a OP river,

I didnt do as good as you but I caught some really nice fish. Thursday went out on a float trip for some fly action and went fishless but they guy who took me nailed a real pretty 20# coho buck on the fly rod got some nice pics and turned it loose. After the float trip I drove upsteam and got that big King I posted about earlier.

On Friday I floated the same river agian and got into another nice King as well as a few smaller silvers. But the Highlight of the day and maybe my whole summer was a really nice and fat chrome wild steelie hen I landed just a few hundred yards from the end of the float trip. One of the nicest steelies I have ever caught. Not because of its size but It was just one of those fish.

Those 40+ Kingers are brutes. Ive hooked a good number of them but my landing percentage is low. I am never matched for them when we hook up. I dont really ever go after the Kings out here as the runs arnt what they youtso be and in my opinion should be protected by not fishing for them at all. But I always manage to hook into quite a few fishing for steelies and Coho. I dont know who would want to keep those black oil rags anyways. You dont see many bright fall kings out here.

I fished by my uncles house. I probably saw over 500 silver just jumping out of the water. My dad hooked up one and then gave it to my 9 year old cousin who lost it. I didn't get any. It was a fun day. I am heading to the Grand e Ronde this weekend, if it rains.

I don't know where/how to fish kings around here, but I did well on coho on the Carbon River on Saturday.

Please let me know how the Grande Rhonde treated you this coming weekend. I teach and coach and will not be able to get out this coming weekend....too damn busy right now!! frown frown
It should be good as we finally recieved some rain- I wish I could head out tomorrow but will have to wait. Would love to see a real hard and semi long rain- then I will surely call in for a mental health day and head out to the Grande Rhonde! laugh laugh

Fished the Puyallup on Saturday for silvers, the water was so muddy due to a mudslide on the upper river the fish could not see the bait. We caught five.
On Sunday we hit the Carbon which was clean and producing. We brought nine of the better ones home. Some fish are starting to show their fall red although there is a mix of bright fish as well. Both rivers are full of fish though the Puyallup needs to clean up again and then it should pick up.

I took the rods with me. I had every intention of fishing, but a cow elk got in the way. You gotta love them cow tags! I got her after walking 80 yards from the truck. She literally ran right at me. That kind of shot the rest of the day for fishing. Darn! ( smile )

Boy ole BK was as sick as a dog on satuday!!!! I didn't feel to sorry for him at first as I thought it was self inflicted eek Turns out it was the good food he ate in forks. He perked up in the late afternoon and fished like a champ.

Fished Point-No-Point from the beach on Friday from about noon to 3:00 and Sunday from about 9:00 to noon. Managed to hook a silver (5 lbs.?)on a green Buzz Bomb on my third cast on Friday but lost the fish in the surf less then 10 feet from shore. Didn't manage a nibble on Sunday. Friday the catch ratio was about one fish for every five or six anglers, while Sunday it was 1 to 10. Most fish looked like they were caught on jigs, while a couple were caught on herring under a float.

MacSteely,
I will report how I did if I end up going. I might stay home and shoot at some birds.
