Anyone know of a company in Washington that produces a pair of good quality waders. I prefer to buy from someone that makes them locally, so when I trash on the feet I can have the feet replaced for a minimal fee rather then having to buy a new set of waders again.

Simms, Simms, Simms, They are not made in washington, but they are made in montana, and they hold up well, I fish about 3 to 4 days a week and they are just excellent with great warranty and repair policies.

I have to agree whole heartedly with the post about simms. After years of trying to make it with cheap waders I bit the bullet and bought the simms guide model breatables. I got tired of buying a new pair of hodgemans every year. If you dress properly under them they are as warm as neoprene 1000 times more comfortable and more durable that neoprene.
I have also heard good things about dan balieys breathable waders.

do yourself a favor get out of neoprene.. you'll spend more time out fishing because you'll be more comfortable. And you'll enjoy it more because your comfortable

Are the breathable waders as warm as the neopreme even if you are wading all day and not just sitting in a boat?

It all boils down to this - I'm right, everyone else is wrong, and anyone who disputes this is clearly a dumbfuck.

lt,

The Simms won't give you the insulation that neo's will, so you need to dress warmer underneath. But you stay dry, comfy, and can move freely in the breathables.

The price of the Simms guide models made me cringe, but I figured I could go on spending 70-100 bucks on neo's that would be leaking before the season ended, or I could dump 350 bones and be warm, dry, and comfy for a few seasons to come. If they perform like I've been told, it will be money well spent.

I got a pair of L.L. Bean breathables, I've had them five years, I know that because they just started leaking, and I called Bean's to get them repaired/replaced. Luckily Bean's has a lifetime warantee on all their products, so it will be no problem.

The way I figure it, every wader is eventually going to leak, so buy ones with a good warantee and return policy.

I agree, bite the bullet and buy breathables, they are really comfortable, I just wear fleece pants underneath and I stay really warm.

Bean's has breathables starting at $149, and those have the lifetime warantee, too... I'm thinking of getting a pair of those for my girlfriend, check them out online, or go to their web site and sign up to get their free fly fishing catalog mailed to you.

Does anyone own a pair of breathable bootfoots? I find my breathable stockingfoot waders still leave my feet like frozen rocks by the end of a long winter day of steelheading. I have bad circulation from too much smoking and need something more on the dogs in the winter so I just ordered a pair of 5mill bootfoot neoprene from Cabelas. Otherwise I'm in my Baileys 90% of the time.

The breathable simms definately keep you warmer because there is no condensation build up inside the waders, I just ware the guide wieght poly propelene and fleece wading pants pants underneath it all and I am as snug as a bug in a rug!!!!!!!!!1
