The river looks great, its down to where I like to fish it.
From what ive seen lately, there are not a whole lot of fresh fish. There were several reports on this board of remarkably fresh fish last weekend. Ive been fishing only around monroe and havent spent all that much time on the river. Hooked in to a mid-high teens silver last night and got my butt kicked. Broke my 8 pound leader after burying himself in the whitewater.

Last weeks high water was great. There were some good pods of fresh silvers, and chums. The sky has dropped alot since then and things have slowed down. If you gear down and target the right water you will get a fish or two. Lots of rain forcasted for sunday through tuesday! We might get the first little shot of winter steel late next week!

Me and my partner fished the mouth of the Wallace, mouth of the Sultan, and Buck Island on Thursday. There was a mix of bright and dark silvers and some dark chums in all three locations. We threw dick nites, corkies, and bait at them. A big nada. The only folks hooking fish were the snaggers at the Wallace. I have never seen so many Point Wilson Darts in fresh water! Absolutely sickening. Watched one guy bonk a very very red silver about 12lbs. The belly on that thing was blacker than the soles on my workboots! I ran into a kid later that is neighbors with a Sgt from WDFW. Told him to tell him he needs to take another officer with him down there as there was an easy $10,000 in tickets just begging to be written. Bring on the rain the next couple of days. I need a puppy fix something bad.
Good luck and tight lines.

Fished the lower Sky today and banged 3 steelhead, all within 10 min of each other. The catch, ALL THREE NATIVES, with one winter run, all in the 6-9lb range!!! Totally surprised us as we were fishing for silver/chums. Besides the weekly Buzz Bomb convention @ the Wallace ....Anyone else do any good on the Sky today???
