Here are the directions to get to the launches, for the Flotilla December 15 on the Lewis River.

I have split them in to 2 sides of the river. South side which has the "Meat Hole" and Happa launches.
The North side which has the Island Ramp the Golf Course Ramp and the Hatchery Launch.

NORTH SIDE. (Best for drift boats). From I-5, take the Woodland exit #21. Go east at the bottom of the ramp. You are now on Hwy 503 east (AKA Lewis River Drive). Follow Hwy 503 (Stay right at the Y at Fishermans Depot) east 4.6 miles from I-5 to the Island Ramp. The ramp will be on your right side at the end of the guard rail. It is hard to see in the dark.

If you prefer the Golf Course ramp, go an additional 6/10 of a mile past the Island Ramp and take a right on Old Lewis River Rd. Take an immediate right into the Golf Course and the ramp will be on the right of the large parking lot. Yes this ramp is at the Golf Course. This would be the preferred ramp for drift boats to take out. It is also the preferred ramp for sleds to put in and take out. This is where we will meet after fishing.

For drift boaters only. To put in, the best place as far as distance to shuttle is the Hatchery Launch. To get there continue east on Hwy 503 an additional 2.0 miles past the Golf Course and turn right at the Hatchery sign.Go .9 miles to the ramp. That is a total of 7.2 miles from I-5 to the Hatchery turn. This launch is a beach style launch rather than a ramp.

SOUTH SIDE. From I-5 take Woodland exit #21. At the bottom of the exit go east. You are now on Hwy 503 east. Go right at the Arco station, (E. CC Street). At the end of the bridge stay left, you are now on NW Hayes Rd. Continue on NW Hayes Rd. Go left on Etna Rd. (6.0 miles from I-5). Go 2/10 of a mile and take the first left Happa Rd. Go 4/10 of a mile to the Happa Ramp. This is a brand new ramp and very nice facility.

To get to the "Meat Hole" Ramp, instead of turning on Happa Rd. stay on Etna Rd. The ramp is 1.1 miles past Happa Rd. on Etna Rd. Stay left when the road Y's. This would be the second best drift boat put in. It is just a long shuttle from the take out.

Good info. I would like to add one note; the last time I used the Hatchery ramp. I was glad to have 4WD because those round rocks were spinning like ball bearings before I locked 'em in.

Good point Snapset. When I visited there yesterday, I wasn't sure how a 2WD would do. If you don't have 4WD, use the "Meat Hole" ramp. It is a lot farther to shuttle, but a much better ramp. You put in at the same point on the river as the hatchery, just the opposite side. Maybe some people can set up some kind of shuttle to the "Meat Hole".

There's not as many fish above the hatchery, but there is a nice driftboat run from below the dam down to the hatchery. Access via the north side.

Hey RT, the steelhead hatchery is up by Merwin- above the salmon hatchery ya know. I know the salmon hatchery ironically gets a lot of steelhead, but the upper steelhead hatchery gets a fair amount too, don't they?
