I'm planning to fish below Blue Creek in my drift boat and I was wondering how long it takes to drift from the Blue Creek drift down to the next launch. This will be my first drift on that stretch of river and I'd prefer to do the whole thing while it's light out. Of course I'd like to be able to fish that drift as long as possible before heading down stream!! "Last Cast" yeah right!!!

Thanks!!

Mike

If you are just going to shoot down from Blue Creek to Mission hole it should not take more than 30 min if that long. Easy float. Even the turn at Blue Creek is not that bad.

I think you might want to check the water flows before you go...it's flowing at just under 14K cfs right now. Which I'm sure is haulin' a$$. eek

At this flow half hour is about right but as high as it is I would not bother with the boat never have hit them any where but the creek when it is above 10,000

From the Blue Creek Launch to the Mission Bar Launch is what I would consider a 6 hour trip. That is if you stopped and fished from the boat and the good spots along the bank. If you are strictly asking about float time I'd say it's about an hour. Thoroughly fish the gravel bar that runs about 1/2 mile down below Blue Creek. Good Luck.

To float it out from that gravel bar without stopping to fish with the flow at 6500 will take 1 hour and 15 min. have done it many time when the wife was makeing lunch and told me not to be late after fish the mouring bite in the summer

Not to be sarcastic or anything but some of these estimates on time are a little off. I thought that Kunan wanted to spend the day fishing at Blue Creek and then buzz on down to Mission Hole to take out before dark. So I will put it this way. The distance is 6 miles by river. So figure your trip accordingly.

But the river is high. I have had family living at the river for around 20 years and none of us are fishing it right now. Good luck.
