RT, let me apologize, not for the point I make, but for making a public post and not mailing you privately. I had no idea the recourse it would cause you. I will stick by my guns for the point I make. It makes me sick to be anchored on the river and have sandwiches, beer cans, cigarette butts and all sorts of garbage pass me on their way downstream. I was born and raised here and it pisses me off to see people mistreat our resource. These same juggheads that trash our streams don't need any encouragement. As for STS, they obviousely have some editing problems, for my issue makes no mention of your joking.

Thanks for your new comments Cracker. I appreciate it. Anyone who knows me or saw me involved in the Wind R. and Wilson R. clean-up projects knows how I feel about keeping our rivers clean.

However, I now know why a few complaints hit here and the STS office today. In my column transcript sent into STS I clearly had three dots then "... OK, now you know I like to joke around a bit" - right after the poor paint joke attempt I made. Somehow this got omitted by the article layout crew. I e-mail forwarded the original transcript back in today to STS office manager Lorraine, who is going to look into it; and said they would print a correction in the next issue. I can only guess at what happened. Maybe one of the crew thought the 3 dots meant it was a separate sentence for them only. Lorraine said she would find out. But despite that, I still wish I hadn't tried to make that poor joke; and will do better in the future. Thanks.

RT thanks for the explanation! It takes a lot of guts to not just walk away from something like this. Wish some of those other guys had the same guts to apologize and reach an understanding with you? But as past history has shown certain flamers are only here to flame you. Wish they were at least actual fisherman.... Zebco combo outfits just don't make it in my book . Shame theydon't contribute to fishing but just want to bust on people.

Did I miss a chance to flame you. Shoot, I hate it when that happens.
As someone (as you know) who jokes around alot, plays a few jokes and uses humor all the time there are times that I also must make calirifications (or apologies), just something we deal with. DO NOT let this or any other action curb your terrific sense of humor and the use thereof.
