Here is my situation. I have heard of Pentac, and know only a little of the history behind the company. I was told that Mortac doesn't make all the parts that Pentac used to. Heck, I'm not even old enough to know what pentac stuff looks like.

So here is my PLEAD to all of you that can spare a few blades. I am looking for silver blades in the 4.5 size, and half-n-half blades. I don’t know why these are good, but I was told that I should be looking for these. If anyone would be willing to make my Christmas and sell me some blades, I would be most thankful. If you don't want to spare several blades, then maybe several people can spare one blade each. If you don’t want to post here, please e-mail me at mat353@aol.com

RipDatLip,

Don't be so meticulous. I have bought a lot from Mortac and they work great. I don't think a fish can tell a difference between 4.5 and 5 or 4. Mortac has 0,1,2,3,4,5,6 and that should cover all you need.

Try Zig-Zag lures at makinglures.com (or something like it).

If you can't catch a steelhead using Mortac spoons or spinners then sell all your fishing gear and go golfing. It's the fisherman that catches fish, not the brand name of the lure.

If I'm told that those are the blades, then I'm going to try to get some of those blades. No one can part with a few blades? If it isn't the blades, then what is the big deal with selling me a few?

Fishermans Shack out of Monmouth Oregon has a bunch of blades that are comparable to Mortac as well. They also have colored torpedo bodies. I have used both Mortacs and these and they are very comparable--Fisherman's Shack is a little cheaper though. Just FYI. You can order online from either.

Buy some mor-tacs and give them a try. I have also heard that Pen-tacs are better, because they have a better finish. instead of paying a fortune for them from somebody on this board order a bunch from mor-tac ( online) They are well worth the price.
I moved from battleground last year and I can safely say that if you are not catching fish now within a 60 mile radius of battleground, its not the blades, its you. Head toward Camas in late Dec or early Jan ( when the fish are tired of seeing all that drift gear) and give some silver mor-tacs a try.

Seriously here people... No one is willing to spare some blades? That's a shame. And I thought the sunrise(pink) okies where hard to get! Oh wait, you want those? Ah, to bad, you can't spare any pentac gear.
