Was supposed to be on the water today ... but here I am stuck doing chores again smile as I called the trip this morning based on several hours of pretty heavy rain.

1.68 inches so far and it's still coming down ... everybody else seeing the same??

Looks like a lot of folk's fishing plans are probably getting pushed to the back burner!

Started in McCleary, went to Raymond, then Westport, then Aberdeen, then Lacey. The later in the day, the more the wind and rain.

I did pull over at the mouth of Willapa Bay just to watch the storm for a few minutes. You just have to love the power of a good storm!

I was up on the N/Fork of the Sky this morn. It wasn't raining hard when I got there but had to wade thru the snow to get to the river bank. I was surprised that the river wasn't up. It was just a little higher than in the summer time. But if it keeps raining all that stupid snow will melt and the river will rise. Saw a few brave souls out on the river durning my drive up there. One other note The road that goes past Reiter Ponds to Index is now paved all the way. They were installing guard rails there this morn. Jim S.

I don't want to hear about it banki. wink Here in Olympia we've had occasional showers until about a half-hour ago. Now I'd have to call it rain. I guess we do live in a rainforest area.

I am posting the URL of one of the best sites for updated weather information that I have found yet. This site is updated every three hours I believe. If you play around with the site a bit and use the USGS Hydroglical site you can get a good idea of when to hit the rivers for maximum fishing time or just stay home and work on that honey-do list!
