The funny thing about chatrooms is that, while the theme of the chatroom does quite often come up, the conversation usually isn't entirely limited to the theme ONLY. Just like when a bunch of folks get together to go fishing, sometimes the conversation drifts to items other than the task at hand.
Now, this doesn't mean that you cannot just jump in and ask a fishing-related topic. On the contrary, there are normally some great sources of regional fishing knowledge present and willing to share with you what they know. All you have to do is jump right in and ask the question and I'll bet that someone will answer it.
Give it a try, Paranoid (hey, you called yourself that...not me!). Online chatrooms take some getting used to but once you get the hang of it then they do pretty well.
Of course, calling the folks who inhabit these chatrooms "trash" won't win you any brownie points but I'm sure they'll look past it if you provide them with nudie websites...er...great fishing tips.

Hey KB, e-mail me the URL to that nasty freebie. I won't look at it of course - I just want to see if it's on my son's bookmarked 'favorites' list, and remove it.

Paranoid, Believe it or not, we do fish too. Actually, the regular contributers to this room are excellent fishermen. Seems you can only talk about how to choose a fly line or swing a spinner so many times before it's old news. I love to share info on my favorite methods and do every time I see a question come up about them. I'm also passionate about conserving wild steelhead and don't mind saying so. Why people choose to discuss personal/family issues here, I don't know. Any more, I just ignore them. The are enough fishing-related threads to read anyway.
Hey LtlCleo, I'm a hunt-and-pecker too. Did I say that?

Paranoid there's a ton of private messaging that goes on in that chat room. Setting up fishin trips, sharing zipperlip info with your zipperlip friends, questions from some people to others askin for help and how to info, shared thoughts on new gear, fishin politics, and on and on. The trash talk can be a bit spicey to some or worthless to others....not our problem. As I've pointed out ....the real value is in what you don't see. Nuff said. Cove Rv Park & Tackle Prostaff Gooose
