What kind of gear do you guys wear for wading when it's really hot out? I don't even want to wear my hip boots because that requres wearing long pants which is something I don't want to do when it's 80 degrees out. For that matter, is it even worth fishing when it's that hot (summer run steelies)? Is there a shoe or sandle you recommend if you just want to bear leg it?

Put a couple pair of socks on and then just wear your wading boots, that way you still have the felt soles which is almost a must.

And yes it does not matter how hot it gets out if you are in the spot where fish are you will catch them

This is where breathable waders\wading boots rule.

This time of year, the water is probably way too cold still to expect to wade wet comfortably for any amount of time.

With breathable waders, you can wear a light Tshirt and be fine. Maybe even roll your waders down to your waist.

Once the water is warm enough, I've done fine with Tevas. Not as good as felt, but if you are careful, they can work great.

Just remember that the hotter and more sunny it is, the fish will tend to be in the deeper and faster water.

I have a set of 3mmm Neoprene socks with gravel guards from Cabela's. I wear these with my wading boots. Works good in the "too hot to wear waders but the water's still cold" situations.

Cutting the feet off an old pair of neoprenes works good for this too.
