We finally caught some Kings out there. A 25 lb. and a 17 lb. We were in by 4:20 AM and out by 8:00 AM.

How did everyone else do? We were the fifth boat back at the ramp and the first with Kings. There were a few Silvers before us.

Went out on Friday to Elliott...not a single bite (2nd wknd in a row)!!!.

Went out Sat and not a bite until around 8:45am - 2.5lb Silver. Don't know what's going on. According to checker at Armeni Ramp, Muckleshoot tribe landed this season 10k Salmon, sportsmen less than 1k. Not a good ratio I think. At least I can say that I landed my 1st King (22#) on 7/19.

WDFW to meet on Tues to see if they're going to extend season. I doubt is as the tribesmen were too darn successful.

Does not seem the "great" fall chinook return in Puget Sound is going to happen as initially thought by WDFW. Either that or it is running a little behind. I will put my money on the latter.

The south Sound was really spotty for kings all weekend. frown

Troller,

What's your setup for Kings? I'm using a green flasher and a grand slam with glow beads and herring strip with WD-40 on it (tried w/o WD-40 as well). Have been out the past 2 wks and nothing! Last time I landed a King was 7/19/02 and was a 22# fatty.

Managed to squeeze out a 2# Silver on Sat after much frustration.

I had Four poles out the back on downriggers. All four had hot shot glow green flashers. On the one we hit the king on it was a 11 inch flasher the only one I put on with a whole blue label herring, used a leader bout 5 feet with a sliding top hook so i could but a bend on the fish so it would rotate. The other were rigged, green glow hotchie, army truck coho killer 3.5 , and b2 glow squid, the hootchie had the other two hits with one being a coho. Next time if they open it back up I will use two herring rigs and two hootchies.
