That's not why we are in Iraq. Freedom had nothing to do with it. Bush just wants you to think so now that he can't find the WMD's or concrete proof of a link to Bin Ladin.

And before you say any thing, if there was proof you would be hearing about it from the White House. Not Drudge of some other rinky dink little source.

Wmd's is just what the damn press took and ran with. Wmd's was a small part of the equation. The big piece is a need for stability in the region and germany, france, and russia's attemp to change the oil market to run on euros instead of dollars which would have screwed us good.
liberals and conservatives also need to hit themselves in the head till the reset switch works. Cant you see the government only has power over the people when the people are fighting amongst themselves. Democrats and Repuplicans are one in the same. The goal is to take the power away from you and me and have us thank them for it by voting them in for another term. Small government uses this tactic on a regular basis. Get a CLUE!!!! From the earliest days of the republic until the age of TV, all politics was face to face. No one could become a candidate of a political party without passing muster with thousands of people in face to face encounters.

Campaigns themselves were face to face. Candidates traveled the country making speechs (which they mostly wrote themselves), debating, talking with voters and other politicians in formal and social situations. Candidates had no choice but to allow themselves to be evaluated by thousands of people, face to face.

It was only after TV had been around for awhile that it was discovered that face to face politics could be dispensed with and candidates could be packaged and sold to the voters as something other than what they were.

George Bush, privileged son of a wealthy eastern family, Andover , Yale (Skull and Bones), was packaged and sold to the voters as a Texas cowboy.

TV has changed politics. A media creation is routinely sold in a political campaign as if it were a real person.

I didn't know historians had come to anything approaching a general consensus on the nature of the American Revolution. But I'm in ageement it was alot more complicated then simply about "peace, happiness, and freedom".
