Yeah, that's rich; a traitorous felon attacking the patriotism of someone questioning the government.

I consider him the soldier that gave Reagan plausible deniablility in the Iran/Contra affair. He took the rap and like G Gordon Liddy, accepted the hit for his boss. If you consider North a "traitorous felon" what does that say about our failed presidential candidate in the last election?

I've had this debate with Sardonicus on another board. I agree, Ollie should be serving hard time at Leavenworth (I don't like the Death Penalty after all), but there are a number of folks who feel that he is a genuine hero. I certainly can't understand how anyone could think that way, but there you are.

He was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Gerhard A. Gesell on July 5, 1989, to a three-year suspended prison term, two years probation, $150,000 in fines and 1,200 hours community service. A three-judge appeals panel on July 20, 1990, vacated North's conviction for further proceedings to determine whether his immunized testimony influenced witnesses in the trial. The Supreme Court declined to review the case. Judge Gesell dismissed the case September 16, 1991, after hearings on the immunity issue, on the motion of the independent counsel.

I think he should have done time and I think he should not allowed to use his military rank any longer. I served in uniform and I consider North using his military rank as an insult.

will the hypocricy never stop.......it goes to show how disgusting people are that put their own uneducated desires above the law or their country or what is morally right.....
sardonicus - you are NO PATRIOT. and neither is ollie north- there are alot of america haters taking refuge behind uniforms so they will be seen as patriotic- like sardonicus and ollie north or timothy mcveigh.........
ollie north ought to be extradited to nicaragua to face his terrrorist past.......thats right terrorist past, and now scumbags are trying to take a terrorist and make him a hero.......in the simplest terms-sardonuicus supports terrorists.....i bet if bin laden killed nicaraguan civilians instead of american civilians-you would have wet dreams about him
absolutely disgusting hypocricy from the errogant ignorant kool aid crowd

Funny Lupo, you are just another dogma prattling dummy that claims to have upper level international business training and uses it to scramble around on roof tops like a sparrow. You should look up hypocrisy sometime. What makes you think you are a savant and definer of patriotism and hate. You are a comic, too bad your material is so negative.

Golly, Lupo you would name me after your party Icon?. I guess I am flattered. Probably a slip of the keyboard. A sense of satisfaction is a great motivator. Even for and international business man. Curious, is your venom where Ollie is concerned because he help oust some of your business associates? Sandinistas I believe they were call. Another four syllable word for Commies. I enjoy scrabble, play it with my grandson often. I like the crossword puzzles too. You should spend a little time at those endeavors. It would help you in your avocation. Do you get a sense of power from looking down from the rooftops? Don't quit on me. Your cheerleader is just getting warmed up. She's a riot when properly primed. Funny you mentioned that Aunty. My Mother was a school teacher and every month I got the "improve your word power" page thrust at me for extra homework. Guess I'm not damaged from it, but it seemed a pain at the time.

Lord, Sard! You sure do talk about "commies" and "socialists" a lot! Haven't heard anybody do that for years. Brings back memories of the old days when "commies" were very big, filling the role of necessary object of fear. (We got to have an enemy don't we?) Kinda dates you to hear you talk about "commies". Times have changed. We're dependent on the Communists now. Our governement has got us in hock to the Communist Chinese govment and is borrowing more $$$ from them all the time.

Whats a neocon? Facts? I thought libs dealt in touchy feely, not facts. Let's seem some numbers in the borrowing claim ss. Perhaps it's a devious right wing plot to make enterprenuers and capitalists out of them so we won't have to fight them in the next decade. IF you really think the Chinese form of government is Communist, you need to hit the books again.

Wailuku I have to agree with Sard in this one. Red China is Communist in name only. A Communist govenment has no real person in charge. It's more like a lack of govenment. Red China is a dictatorship plain and simple. That's what always happens to a Communist state, and that's why that form of govenment dosn't work.

BW, do you also agree with Sard's assertion that the Sandinistas were "commies"?

I must admit to not being sure about the Sandinistas. Sorry AM China is not a true Communist state. If there is one person at the top it no longer is a Communist state, it has become a dictator ship. There never has been a true Communist state. By the way the US is a Republic. http://www.realdemocracy.com/demorep.htm Just adding a little fuel here.

You mean to tell me we were unjustly defaming the Russians all those years we were calling them "Commies'?! There I grew up believing the Russians was a bunch of freedom threatening Communists and now it turns out it wasn't true after all! Oh Lordy! The things I've learned since I got this here computer!

Over the years the word Republic has been redefined a couple of times. It has been brought closer to the meaning of the word democracy. It may be helpful to see what Madison (the father of the Constitution thought). http://www.revision-notes.co.uk/revision/997.html

sard- your mising the history again- you seem to have opinions based upon touchy feely stuff rather than history in just about everything you write.......
sandanistas wernt communist and ollie didnt oust them.....they still run nicaragua and are doing a much better job at it than the dictator that you and you ilk supported and wanted returned by your terrorist contra campaigns...
put downt he scrabble game and pick a history book..... you remember what books are dont ya? thats where the words from scrabble come from......
howeverr i agree with ya on china.........there is no such thing as a true communist nation just as there is no such thing as a true democracy....that said, our gov selling us out to the chinese has nothing to do with creating entrapreneurs so that we dont have to fight them next......that is pure kool aid.... it is our gov selling us out because we are bankrupt

Please forgive me O Oracle of historical etchings. LoL Do you look in the mirror and smile when you create some of the prattle you must consider dialogue. I don't believe I found a response to the Sandinista business connection I queried you about. Kool aide? Gatorade is better. I don't understand the lib fetish with kool aide. I guess you don't need a designated driver if you stick to kool aide.
