I-917 (Yet another $30 Car Tab Initiative) looks to be in serious trouble of not qualifying for the ballot. He turned in 266,000 signatures on the July 7th deadline. It needs about 225,000 valid signatures to qualify. So, if there is an invalid signature rejection rate of less than 15%, it will qualify. However, of the 14 initiative drives that have made it to the counting station, his invalid signature rate is between 16.7% and 23%. Not out of the ordinary for paid signature drives, BTW. Now, this is where it gets real interesting. On the day he turned in the signatures, he said he had a touch over 300,000 signatures. So, where did the 34,000 signatures go? I believe there are a couple of possible answers: A. That dirty Republican Secretary of State flushed a bunch of petitions down the toilet. B. They were used as padding in Timmy's Darth Vader suit and he did not take them out. C. Tim Eyeman lied. For everyone that answers anything but C, I have some real, nice Kool-Aid for you. If this fails to make the ballot, it will be the 2nd major defeat for the Lieman this year. It doesn't matter what the rest of us think of him, if his sugar daddy (Michael Dunmire) finds his money going down a rathole (or into Timmy's deep pockets) will he continue to bankroll this guy? Stay tuned, it will probably be September before the Secy. of State goes through all the signatures.

Timmy don't care. He gets a nice fat chunk of cash from each petition drive....he's a little disappointed he has to claim it, and pay taxes on it now thaat he got caught embezzling, but he still makes around 100K each time he does one.

Well, this gets stranger and stranger. The Lieman is going with answer A based upon his press conference this morning. Here is his proof: http://soundpolitics.com/EymanReceipt20060707.pdf Here is his statement: http://orbusmax.com/blog/?p=12 I am of the belief that Timmy's beanie is on full stun and he may just take off into orbit. BTW, here is the Secretary of State's response: http://www.soundpolitics.com/archives/006520.html

Well, the first step has been taken and the random sample shows that this initiative will not be on the ballott. http://seattlepi.nwsource.com/local/279375_eyman29.html The interesting question is why Timmy lied or made the mistake. My contention is that if this initiative does not qualify and if Lieman paid his signature gatherers for the 300,000 signatures, he probably owes some money to his benefactor. Wouldn't it be interesting if his posturing earlier in the week was just designed to buy him some time to come up with a refund for Michael Dumnire? Although he has retreated into his shell publicly after the debacle earlier in the week, he has been very active sending out e-mails asking for money. If he wasn't so damaging to my home, he could be quite entertaining. In a Jerry Springer sort of way that is!!

Slab, when I used the term home, I was referring to my home state. I believe that when anyone wants something for nothing, they are inherently damaging. I believe that describes Eyman.
