Has anyone ever heard of this? The North American Fishing Club. They say it is a club the is pretty much chosen people to put in a pool to Field Test equipment. Anyone a member and is this bogus or not?

I was in it twice. Once by my hands and once by my Son-in-law Last year. All I got in a years time was one magazine. Nothing else. And the time before I got some line to try out and when I wrote the magazine about the lack of fly fishing They totally ignored me. So I will nat go there any more. ![slap slap](/forum/images/graemlins/default_dark/fishslap.gif)

Seems like some are treated right by this organization and some are treated bad. I think I am going to pass. Over on Catcherman.com they had a thread from the past. Seems alot like Columbia House (music club) to me. I have a petpeive for things just showing up on my doorstep and then they want money for it without me ordering. Seems like this is one of those types of outfits. Thanks for the posts.
Might be able to test something good in about 20 years of membership. Everyone gets line. LMAO. And my free slip bobbers are on the way. Ye Haw!!!!
Thanks again for the posts

It's spam; junk mail; think Publisher's Clearinghouse. Cut it up and toss it.
When you acknowledge that kind of garbage, you acknowledge that you do indeed live at that address. That info goes into a database and that gets sold to other junk mailers. Next thing you know you're getting every catalog and rip-off offer known to man.
For the love of all that's decent, walk away, man, walk away.

I just got my information package, too. Once I fileted out the Crap all that was left was the Stickers with my Name and Address for letters. The rest was round filed.

The NAFC use to sponsor a fishing show on ESPN. It was called North American Fishing. They had a host that weights between 450 and 500 lbs., maybe more. ![eek eek](/forum/images/graemlins/default_dark/eek.gif) He would have a guide put him into fish and that's when I would start laughing. I would get so annoyed listening to is heavy breathing while fighting a cat fish using a fighting belt. ![mad mad](/forum/images/graemlins/default_dark/mad.gif) Man this guy was gross. This guy was so fat he could not remove the hook from a caught fish because he couldn't reach it. ![rolleyes rolleyes](/forum/images/graemlins/default_dark/rolleyes2.gif) Man did he work the @ell out of that guide. ![laugh laugh](/forum/images/graemlins/default_dark/laugh.gif) Probably had to have someone dress him for the show. ![shocked shocked](/forum/images/graemlins/default_dark/shocked.gif) I often wondered if the membership money was use to pay for this Fat Cow's fishing. ![eek eek](/forum/images/graemlins/default_dark/eek.gif) I'm sure a few of you can remember this show. There was also a North American Hunting Club. I think this club(NAFC) is more suited for the frog pond style of fisherman than a steelheader. Anyway I gave my patches to a friend kid. ![laugh laugh](/forum/images/graemlins/default_dark/laugh.gif)

I got, and circular filed, my package today. I'm sure they're able to harvest our information from companies that have it Like magazine companies. Also different websites, especially "free" contests. I've noticed my fishing related junkmail has gone from nothing to a substantial amount since I've started my STS subscription and especially since I've started signing up for free contests on ifish. When I give out my email address, it's always my hotmail address that's basically an account for spam that I check every once in a while. Snail mail is pretty easy to throw away.

I got one in the mail today too. My oldest son wanted the zipper hanger and my youngest wanted the sticker and I'll use the address labels for sending bills. Not bad for junk mail.

When I can find an address on junk mail I send it back to them unopened. After a few bucks worth of postage you stop getting this crap altogether for a while. Probably drives them nuts since these outfits are designed to send rather than receive.
At least I hope it does.
