I and two other friends have Garmin 160 Blues,
One friend has the 240 Blue. The only difference is the amount of pixels. They both use the same transducer. Great fish finders, and they interface with Garmin GPS systems. But do look at the Blue model, and not the regular model. It's a little bit better unit.

Too bad you didn't ask this a day or 2 sooner, along with agreeing with the others about the Garmin, I could have saved you about 65 bucks, BoatersWorld had them for around 200 (Boat show) plus Garmin is currently offering a $25 rebate.

I bought my Garmin 240 blue from AkKings at everett boaters world. Great finder and Boaters world will treat you right.

The higer res. display is nice when in zoom mode or just during normal running. The on-screen menu display is super easy to navigate through.

This is one of those few finders you would only need to read the owners manual to learn how to install it, not operate it.

Once you get it dialed in, you CAN find those babble anywhere in the water column.

I have been running a lorance x-85 for the last two years and have been happy with it. Its put me into fish that I don't belive I would have got into without it.
