No!!!!! Not the VD. Seriously though, my wife would really like to go crabbing and when your woman expresses interest in this sort of thing you don't dismiss it. I was wondering if anyone knows of some good pier/dock access for this sort of thing perhaps on hood canal or anywhere else that is open right now for crabbing. As you can probably guess I don't own a boat so that is why I am asking about shore access. Thanks in advance for the help folks.

You can take her down the coast to Westport for an overnighter or weekend jaunt. The crabbing is usually OK off the docks there. Best bet is to go to Westport and drive about 15 miles south along the beach to Tokeland. Get a room at the Tokeland Hotel, a really cool turn of the century place right where Willapa Bay dumps into the Pacific at Cape Shoalwater and crab off the Tokeland pier. Great ambiance, good food, cool area, and if the crabbing sucks, you can just buy them off the boats for a reasonable price. Makes for a nice weekend.

After you find a spot to go give one of these a try. I've used something similar and they really work!

Disclaimer: Crabhawk is a sponsor on my site - but I have caught a lot of crab with this type of rig and can recommend it.
