The winning fish was 20lbs 3oz.

Second was a little over 14lbs.

The fishing was very SLOW, there was over 300 boats, over 700 tickets sold and only around 30 fish brought in.

That is some pretty discouraging news...

Here's the scoop from an actual participant. 733 entries, 35 fish over 3 days, first 20lbs 3 oz, second 14 lbs 1 oz, third 13 lbs, 10 oz, and last 3 lbs 3 oz, still won $50. Over 95% of the fishermen caught nothing over 3 days and I am proudly in the majority rolleyes I had a couple of bites on Saturday before I got blew of by 35 mph winds and that was it, even though I ground it out for the next two days. Never landed a shaker the whole time, and never even saw a net in the water. It became an extreme source of excitement to even see a bait or two on the screen - almost never even saw a computer fish. Got to say that I have never experienced worse blackmouth fishing frown .

The fishing was GREAT! The catching could have used some improvement however........

I was also an actual participant.

It was my brother that caught the winning fish. I had no bites at all during the three days and my brother had one bite, the one he got the fish on.

It was the first time we have fished a derby and the first time we have fished that area. We usually fish Possession/Shipwreck, Elliott Bay and Pt. Defiance.

It was a long, slow weekend but I can't say it was a bad weekend for us, we took home $3350 minus expenses.

The fishing was so bad that winning the derby was the ONLY thing that would make us even think of going back for next years derby.
