This year I've been lucky enough to find a spot on a river that I have been able to call my own (for now). It's given me the opportunity to have some marvelous fishing days thus far in the season. Yesterday I figured that I'd go out for a little while and try my luck. I took two egg cures with me (both coho eggs). One was cured with borax, salt, and sugar. The other one was cured with pro-cure wizard (natural color). I fished with the borax eggs until they were gone and caught a spawned out hen. This small container lasted about two hours. When I ran out I swithched to the procure eggs and on my first cast - fish on. Second cast - fish on, third cast - nibble. Fourth cast - fish on. I ended up landing six steelies in roughly 3 hours of fishing. I am convinced that cure does matter. I've seen a lot of recipes on the board for the ultimate egg cure, etc. I simply let my skeins dry overnight in some paper towels and then the next day I sprinkle them with procure. I put them in the garage overnight and let them juice. I then lay them on some paper towels (without draining them) and let them sit for a couple of days. This is not the only time I've had this luck with the wizard. I used to think it didn't matter but I'm convinced that this was more than pure coincidence. Maybe the conditions had something to do with it, but the color of the eggs was nearly identical. what

Forget about the cure. Tell us more about your spot laugh
