I have been in communication with Peter over the TR-1 Auto Pilot. I was asking about sales or discounts and I told him I was a member of some local fishing sites. He told me if I can get 5 people to jump on board he would give us a DISCOUNT! And if we get 10 he would discount even more. These are spendy units and I want one really bad. I have seen others contemplating them as well. Anybody on board here that would like to get this discount?? I will post this on other fishing sires as well and hope to get enough fishers to get a deep discount. help

Post here if you are interested!

Fool

Working in the marine industry I can tell you that the lowest marked up items are electronics, I wouldn't expect to much of a discount, especially if they won't tell you up front what the discount is.

Already have mine, with a PSA discount at that. Worth every penny I spent on it!

I have owned one a TR-1 since they were first introduced and wouldn't fish without it. If you troll this thing is fabulous. I agree with Ng it's worth every penny I paid for it. The company and there service is also among the best I've ever seen.

They are upwards of 2k. Search Yahoo under Nautimatic or Tr-1 for the web site.

Thats great Pete, good doing business with you too. Westport season is just around the corner and my TR-1 is going to come in handy.

Pete, I recommend the TR-1 to everyone I can. I love the unit and especially love the incredible phone support and service I've got from Nautamatic from day 1. Tell Frank and Eric hello.

OK, I've heard about how great this thing is. Why is it so useful and how does it help when you are out fishing? How does it work, etc? I've never fished with or seen an autopilot on a small boat in action.

The Tr-1 Autopilot allows you time to focus on fishing/rigging, we use a flux-gate compass with rate gyro to hold heading. you point the boat in the direction you want, and the TR-1 takes over from there, also you have throttle control on the handheld as well, if you use GPS you can link us, and we will run a route, or take you to a waypoint, . The TR-1 can react faster then the human brain and hold you on course even in wind, waves, and current. fishy fishy fishy

laugh It'll also run you over if the skipper is too fixated on watching the lines behind him while in a crowd. (seen too many close calls). Kinda like using cruise contol in rush hour traffic. beathead

The mention of not waching where you are going reminds me of a fishing trip with my 4 yr old little girl, I started out at the mouth of the alsea bay and brang up my GPS Route to roughly 10 miles up river(Cozy Cove) then engaged the TR-1 into GPS track, We picked up a few fish, and many snags, after 6 miles I suddenly thought to myself when was the last time I looked forward to see where I was going. Guess what? I could not awnser my own question.( I got a serious goose bump feeling) It is so relaxing to not have to run the tiller, I now make it a point to look up once in awile. Perhaps some day we will be able to look out for you, but for now you got to do it. as for thick crouds I agree, there is to much going on, to not have that tiller in your hand. unless all the boats around were all pointed in the same direction running TR-1 autopilots.

Love the input.

One of my fishing buddies has one on his SeaSport. I was fishing with him on the CR a couple months ago.

He put the kicker in reverse and it held the boat in one spot despite current and wind changes as we hoglined.

Pretty dern cool.
