If you need a little help to find quality fish in a tough year like this, you need to give Bob a call. He got me into these plus two others on the Sol Duc last Wednesday. The water was low and gin clear, but he knew every rock that had a fish behind it. Finally got my first 20+ pounder. Went 4 for 4 (plus a nice sized whitefish) on a very, very tough fishing condition day. Thanks again, Bob. I can't wait until the fall salmon run.

Yeah, I only had one other steelhead all season before Wednesday, so I felt like a real cracker. But after a day with Bob, I have a whole new sense of confidence. I've always considered myself a fairly good fisherman, but I learned more than I could of imagined in that one day. BTW, that hen and buck were caught in the same hole behind the same rock. They're gonna make some great babies to enjoy in a few years. I'll be back to chase their kids.

Glad we finally broke that magic mark for you Rick! A nice day indeed LT ... I must have been on drugs on that thread A little more to this story of that big dark buck Rick, we caught him again today in the exact same spot. We wasn't as cooperative this time though, he left the hole in a matter of moments! I'm gonna start another thread about this story though! Hope to see you this fall, I'll send you back an email ASAP about a date THANKS!

I noticed in the pictures a lack of detail on what actually lured those nice fish. :p FJ...out.

Shrimp tails under a sliding float. Bob said, "Cast there; mend your line; keep the tip up; watch the line drag; etc...." Poor guy. But he's got the patience of a saint. I was waiting for him to slap me upside the head because he had to keep repeating himself. I'd give more detail about where we got them, but I don't know the names of the launches, drifts, and holes on the Sol Duc. But Bob does. You'll never regret spending a day on the river with him.
