I am tired of paying too much for jigs that have the wrong color/weight/hook size combination. Does any one know a link that shows (with pictures rather than video) how to tie your own jigs??

Easiest way is to actually have someone show you. I'll tell you what (I should just put on a clinic since I've taught so many now LOL), if you are up in the Tacoma area, I'd gladly teach you how to tie jigs. Pretty easy. I noticed you're down in Chehalis, but wasn't sure if you ever head up this way.
