Well its spring break for my boys and wanted to take them springer fishing on Thursday and Friday. I had intended on trying Drano or below Bonneville but wondering now if that's a good idea. I have a driftboat and kicker. Anyone have a suggestion on where we might give it a try? Thanks!

River man,

You could put in at port of Kalama, motor downstream about a mile, and troll herring off the mouth of the Kalama. There is a grain dock, and then there is a flat below the grain dock. Look for the marker in the middle of the river, and fish from the grain dock down to and below the marker. You can also anchor straight across the river from the Kalama launch. There will be lots of boats fishing these spots. Look for the ones with phone numbers on the side, or geezers at the helm, and do what they do.

Both of these spots will be easily reachable with your boat and motor. If you want to anchor fish, you will need more anchor rope and anchor than you are used to, and a sea anchor to reduce wind swing will be helpful. A cheap sea anchor can be made from a 5 gal bucket by boring a bunch of 2 inch holes in the bottom.

Lol, Silver I very much appreciate your recommendation. I will take a look at the map and see what I can figure out. Thank you again!
