I stopped by the Redondo launch today. At 1230 there was a -3.8 tide. I also noticed this sailboat sitting high and dry. What was this guy thinking? The ropes tied to the dock are the only think keeping this sailboat from crashing over on its side. rolleyes

EL......That's a great shot! That's the best boatramp story I've heard or seen since I was down at Mukilteo a few years back when an El Camino backed up to pick up his boat at the ramp...lost control backing up and went in all the way! Water level was at his steering wheel in the El Camino. I wonder if he's had rust problem!

Another time I was at the Mukilteo ramp and a guy with a 18-19 foot boat starts backing up quickly down the ramp and tapped his brakes.....the boat has been unhooked and comes flying off the trailer, slams into the conctrete ramp 30 feet before the water....the outdrive and underside of the boat somehow stays together as the boat slides 20 more feet down the ramp.....never made it to the water.

Another time at Mukilteo a gut tries to winch his 19-20 foot boat out at low tide. The guys pulls his trailer down to the very end of the ramp and his boat barely touches the back of the trailer but that doesn't stop the guy from winching the boat up at an incredible angle and you can see the back of the trailer starting to bend under the stress. Once he got the boat cinched-up to the front the back trailer rollers were 3-5 inches underneath the boat (not touching or supporting the boat) becasue the whole support frame was so bably bent,
The laughs never end at the boatramps....I wish I had my camera ready as you did. Nice work EL.

EL,

I drove past the ramp on Friday evening and I saw the boat tied up the dock but the tide was in. I saw this same sailboat the next morning still tied to the dock and I knew there was a tide change and wondered if the boat was there for the tide change. This answered my question.

El- are they still planning to close this ramp down during the summer months or has this be put off work?????

As far as I know they are still planning on closing down the ramp.
