Is there anywhere in the Puget Sound region to dig your own fresh sand shrimp? I have dug up a few in Hood Canal while clamming in the past but never really found enough to be worth while going after them exclusively. Any help is appreciated.

bill, i know of someone who shrimp guns them out on the nisqually delta/flats when the tide goes out..but also have heard of people getting stuck in the mud down there and not being able to make it back before the tide comes in..stay off the mud and look for sand with lil holes on it..hope this helps..

I dig em at Howarth Park off Olympic Blvd just north of Mukilteo. It's a pretty good sized little delta so a 4' tide or lower is all you need to get em. Good Luck.
