I am curious if other board members are putting emphasis on being out on Sunday due to the lack of fishing pressure from the sound being closed and whether this will increase your chances.... I haven't fished 11 hardly at all, but I'm pressuming that just being out there on the opener will increase your chances. I know in 8-2, I can put money on coming home with a keeper on 2-15 because the area has been closed for a couple of months. So I'm hoping to hit the north tip of Vashon and see what happens....

Jeff-

My buddy Geoff and I are thinking the same thing. Maybe we will see you out there Sunday.

I will be throwing my elbows around down at Pt. D. Hopefully, get a shot at a late springer.

Easy
You will see them there and they are not late
the run timing of the White River fish is later
than most of the other spring runs.I have seen
quite a few caught on the opener. If i was going I would be in the water long before light
and fish in close at the beach then work my
way out to deeper water as it gets lighter!!

Vashon Island for me. Pt. Defiance will be a cluster f**k! I fished it last year on the opener and could not believe the number of boats.
Better launch very early at Defiance.
Easy, I know where you'll be launching.
By the way Carl, the bear happy meal picture really grossed everyone out at work.

Fished the afternoon tide at Dolphin Pt and didn't get any kings, but did come home with (2) keeper blackmouth. Nothing like fresh salmon on the barbe'.

Good to hear Jeff- What did you get them on and how deep?
We threw it all at em... I got half my BM gear wet yesterday without a nibble.

We fished Dolphin all morning then zipped across to Southworth, then up to artificial reef south of Alki for Lings.

Had one huge ling on, big takedown, halfway to boat he chewed my 30lb leader frown

I pulled flashers with various baits attached around Pt. Defiance for about 10 hours. Dredged up a few flounder. Other than that all I caught were some rays and a buzz.

I had out 140' of cable with my trusty cop car coyotee (3.5") behind a green glo hot spot (full size). I had a blue - green glo rattle plug on the other rigger an it didn't get bit, but I fished it a bit higher. Both fish hit just south west of the point, hugging the shorline.

Good work Jeff'e'd.

I fished out of Redondo the first half of the day without so much as a shaker. We passed one boat who had 2 fish, but didn't see any others caught. Crabbing was good, but then again it usually is.

The three of us spent most of the morning over at Pt. D. That was a mistake. We later motored over to Redondo and hooked three shakers. I did not feel so bad then. We should have fished at Redondo to begin with. beathead
