I can hear the hornets a comming.. laugh

CLASSIC VERSION:

The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter. The grasshopper thinks he's a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away. Come winter, the ant is warm and well fed.
The grasshopper has no food or shelter so he dies out in the cold.

MORAL OF THE STORY: Be responsible for yourself!

MODERN VERSION:

The ant works hard in the withering heat all summer long, building his house and laying up supplies for the winter. The grasshopper thinks he's a fool and laughs and dances and plays the summer away. Come winter, the shivering grasshopper calls a press conference and demands to know why the ant should be allowed to be warm and well fed while others are cold and starving.

CBS, NBC, CNN and ABC show up to provide pictures of the shivering grasshopper next to a video of the ant in his comfortable home with a table filled with food. America is
stunned by the sharp contrast.

How can this be, that in a country of such wealth, this poor grasshopper is allowed to suffer so?

Kermit the Frog appears on Oprah with the grasshopper, and everybody cries when they sing "It's Not Easy Being Green."

Jesse Jackson stages a demonstration in front of the ant's house where the news stations film the group singing "We shall overcome". Jesse then has the group kneel down to pray to God for the> grasshopper's sake.

Al Gore exclaims in an interview with Peter Jennings that the ant has gotten rich off the back of the grasshopper, and calls for
an immediate tax hike on the ant to make him pay his "fair share".

Finally, the EEOC drafts the "Economic Equity and Anti Grasshopper Act",
retroactive to the beginning of the summer. The ant is fined for failing to hire a proportionate number of green bugs
and, having nothing left to pay his retroactive taxes, his home is confiscated by the government.

Hillary gets her old law firm to represent the grasshopper in a defamation suit against the ant, and the case is tried before a panel of federal judges that Bill appointed from a list of singleparent welfare recipients. The ant loses the case.

The story ends as we see the grasshopper finishing up the last bits of the ant's food while the government house he is in, which
just happens to be the ant's old house, crumbles around him because he doesn't maintain it.

The ant has disappeared in the snow.

The grasshopper is found dead in a drug related incident and the
house, now abandoned, is taken over by a gang of spiders who terrorize the once peaceful neighborhood.

MORAL OF THE STORY:

VOTE REPUBLICAN hello laugh :p

A MORE PLAUSIBLE VERSION:

The ant kicks back by his pool in the shade drinking martinis while the grasshopper slaves away in the hot sun for two bucks an hour under the threat of being deported. It’s not cool here because the ant is rich and wouldn’t live where his fat ass might get cold.
The grasshopper saves and saves his pennies and finally is able to buy some stock. The stock climbs so the grasshopper asks the ant for a raise. The ant fires him and turns him into immigration. Then the stock tanks for no particular reason but the ant somehow just made another cool ten million on the same stock. Hearing wind of insider trading and hiring illegals CNN shows up at the ant’s house but security won’t let them in. The ant makes a few calls and well placed contributions and politicians begin to thump their podiums….”How can you even insinuate the ant would do anything criminal?”. Colin Powell’s son is appointed to head the FCC. Laws are changed so that reporters from CNN and the likes will do as they are told when they are told and that means no bothering the likes of the ant! Moves are made and the head of the EEOC is ousted and replaced by a staunch conservative who will “Vigorously enforce equal employment laws”. Insider trading allegations die down and the grasshopper is now back working for one buck an hour. The press does a human-interest story about the ant and how generous he is to the less fortunate. All is calm in the world.

stlhead.....nice story...come to work for me and I'll pay you $2.00 an hour under the table that way you won't have to give any of your money to the "man"....you can save up and give 10% of your savings to the homeless and another 10% to help illegal aliens find housing and go to colleges for free. I don't drink so I won't sip any martinis while you work your ass off but I can eat pistachios and bounce the shells off your head to amuse myself while I read the Wall Street Journal....Oh and when your earned income tax credit comes in the mail I know you won't accept it so I'll take it and put some more gas in my SUV or maybe my boats. Ain't capitalism grand!!

Sorry Grandpa, I already make way more than you could afford to pay me. And I pay a sizeable sum towards your future social security payments which I'm sure won't be there for me. In fact I almost had a super conservative thought just now....when people get old and start being a drain on the current generation maybe we should just....no.....never mind that's way too anti-socialist. lol.
