I was wondering what everyones biggest salmon and or steelie is? Please do not make this a topic where fights will occur because nobody likes them and I am just interestedto see what all your guys's biggest fish is. O and guides if you look at this what is the biggest fish that one of your clients has landed. Thanks for the info (hope im not "stirring the pot")

Personally, the biggest salmon I've landed was 53 pounds, the biggest steelhead just over 30, biggest 'but: 87.
For clients, biggest king was 67, largest steelie was 29.5, and the biggest 'but for a guest was 351.
Ahhh, coho. Forgot about those, personal, probably 18-19 pounds that I remember. For a client, just shy of 24.

It was @8 years ago, on lake WA. I was trolling shallow with a Rapala and some small pop gear chasing the rainbows. I was about 125' from shore when I noticed a large party going on at one of the lakefront homes. They were lookin at me, I was lookin at them. you know, just relaxing and takin in the view. Then BAM! Something(a 10+ cut) bends my pole in half. I was by myself, so I flipped her out of gear and wrestled that beast on lite test all the way to the boat. It was an incredible fight. The beast took man and line to thier limits but after a few good runs he was rite at the boat @8' down just kinda chillin. I decided to take advantage of that and reach for the net. As I did, that dammed fish took off, straight up! Before I could do anything I was eye to eye with the twisting turning beast. He was 6 feet out of the water, 20 " away from my face when the demon fish not only spit out my setup, the whole thing landad at my feet(in my boat),as he dove to freedom. I lost it! I threw or beat up everything on my boat in the biggest hissy fit you've ever seen. I probably would have gone on for longer but the sound of laughter from the shore broke my fit of rage. All those poeple on shore watched the whole thing from start to finish. Of coarse, being quick to recover , I gathered my my floating debris and headed for the other side of the lake. Not a day goes by I dont grit my teeth thinking of this!

Biggest King 38 Biggest Steelie 23 Biggest coho 19 Biggest pink 9 sturgeon 72" The one that got away. This happend saturday July 12th 2003 I was fishing for steelhead and I had already lost one, I was fishin the meat hole on the Lewis and I hooked one up river of me and he went up river more. Got him close to me and he shot straight down to the bottom and held there for I swear like 2 minutes. I pulled him up toward me and he took off down river . I pulled him back up to me and he shot straight down and he came unhooked. I reeled in my gear and noticed my hook was not hooked it was straigt. That hook is now up on my wall, I am proud of it

42 pound King (Thanks Bob!) 27 pound Steelhead! If I were to set some lifetime fishing goals, it would be to catch a 70+ pound King and a 30+ pound steelhead. Those are some lofty goals!

King, 42 pounds on a Berkley electronic scale, upriver bright caught in the Columbia.
Steelhead, 21 pounds using LxG squared/775, caught and released on a fly in the Quinault.
Coho to the boat and measured on the scale, 19 pounds, another one brought to the side of the boat the same day and released without measuring girth as it was a wild fish, but I did measure length against the handle of my rod, and it was an inch longer than my 19 pound hatchery fish, estimated 21 lbs.

King=21# Coho=8# Chum=27# Steelie=24# Sturgeon=89"est.110# The one that got away..... I was fishing Lake Margret with my dad. I was about 6 I guss. We were tyed to the log that sticks out of 20' deep water on the west side. We were fishing powerbait on the bottom after failing to catch one trolling. Still had no luck so we started to eat and forgot about fishing. Then my pole, one of the little push-button ones, jumped out of the boat, skirted acrossed the water for twenty feet, and went down never to be seen again. I later found out that WDFW planted 80 steelhead into that lake that year and this is what we think it was.
