My partner Rob, is doomed to a life of nothing bigger than 25lbs, from here on out. Twice in one month, Kings over 60lbs.
This one came in at a hair under 70lbs, and I mean a hair under. I am sure it weighed in at 70 or a little more when it was landed.
Rob is going to have a tough time with Skagit river pinks.
The client that caught this one is going to have it mounted and he said it only took about thirty minutes to land and he was drift mooching. It is the largest king in the Craig area so far this season and could be the biggest one the year, we will soon see.
Big King

Thanks Bob B, for letting me share this one with everyone. A fish this big does not happen every day.

Craig is on the west side of Prince of Wales Island in S.E. Alaska, west of Ketchikan.

B. Gray, where was the fish caught, more specifically.....near the coast (Noyes, Security Cove, etc.), or inside somewhere? (I'm not looking for exact details, just curious....I spent a lot of time in the area about 20 years ago)?

That fish is gorgeous!! eek beer

The fish came from cape Ulitka area. Today there were five fish over fifty lbs, taken at the pineapple, off Noyes Island.

Was this fish a hen? In the picture it looks like a fairly short jaw line. just curious.

B Gray, that is gorgeous country. I spent a lot of time around Addington, Ulitka, and down at Security Cove (Baker Island) in a past life ('70s and '80s). I'm envious.
