I removed it, most people think others have double standards while they think their standards are pure. What if that young girl was a member of this board? I removed another of Sparkey's posts awhile back[also from a dating site] of one of the male members of this site.

Feather ... one of the nice things about the web is that it's much like the TV. If you don't wanna read / see it, you don't have to! Simply change the channel wink

It looks as if it is becoming habitual practice for Sparky to continually put out posts that are in need of moderators to delete them.

Is someone breaking forum rules when a moderator deletes a post you made? (numerous times apparently from your own words)

The double standards I was refering to is how one minute the little "poster child" is making statements like this and then on the other hand he is getting his posts deleted.

Bob,
Is this the same advise you gave Driftboater? BTW, I was able to get in touch with him and got filled in on a variety of items laugh

In conclussion it is OK for some special individuals on here to break forum rules? and then on the other hand you ban others just because they are controversial and dont do the "suck up" thing very well?

Just be consitant.

or it could be more than just me turning the channel!

Feather, Are you for real? I NEVER said numerous times, I said "once before"., and that was so the member he posted about didn't drown him in the river. I can delete posts for any reason I want. eek I believe I use pretty judgement most of the time. Is your last line some kind of threat? I hope not confused

(17) posts and the guy has a real chip. Someone may have to find a new sandbox to squat in.

I think you have to look at a persons total contribution to the board. A person may fail to use their best judgement all the time, but if they are a positive part of the board they are allowed to continue posting after the obigatory slap on the hands.

The final thing is this is Bobs board and he has been kind enough to allow us yahoos to post here, what he or is chosen moderators say is the way it is. If you don't like it.... cry cry cry cry

Nope 4Salt I was here long before driftboater got the boot.

OK, maybe numerous was the wrong word, lets say more than once.
The last sentance is no kind of threat in any way, so please dont read into it that way.
Its just fact.. Your inconsistant moderator manner will be enough to turn folks away.
Just take a quick look how popular the other fishing BB's are becoming.

I don't know whether or not Jerry or Bob would bother to verify this, but it seems to me that an occasional slip that results in a post getting bombed for being inappropriate is a far cry from posting repeated inflammatory or malicious stuff that's only intended to stir things up.

This isn't the friggin' public library, it's a private forum and it's owner CAN limit what we see and say. It's up to us to decide if we want to live with that.

Personally, I prefer moderated boards. This one is actually pretty loosely moderated compared to another one that I frequent, and it's got 32k+ registered members and over a thousand that have contributed financially to its existence.

Moderated does NOT necessarily equal bad or even unpopular.

I am really sorry if my post offended you. I do not think any of my "19" posts have been what you stated as above.
Your opinion is entirely yours and I respect that, as is mine. I just get blasted for sharing mine.

I'm sorry Feather that you are unhappy with my imperfections, all I can do is what I think is best at any particular time. It most be nice to be only 40 and perfect!! I'm 52 and still working on the perfection thing---- seems the older I get the more I realize how far I have to go.

Feather I was referring to Driftboater, but you do seem to be stirring the pot a little now, don't you think?

I mean you're free to share your opinion, but when the opinion you share is critical of the way the owner chooses to manage his possession, you are asking for trouble.

It's not like this board is costing you anything. Find another one if you don't like the way it's operated, or accept the consequences, whatever they may be. It's really a no brainer.

And while I'm at it:

"The double standards around here make me wanna puke!" IS inflammatory. Not to me, but it's inflammatory just the same. Did you expect them to say "Gee, you're right, we'll get right on fixing that!"? Sheesh.

Thats your opinion and your surely entitled to it, but I followed his posts and have talked on the phone with him and nothing in my opinion was malicious.

4Salt, I thought the very same thing from the beginning but we like to give people the benefit of the doubt.

Feather, just because you registered before Driftboater was banned doesn't mean much since some users make multiple user names. What is funny is how you became an active poster right after Driftboater was banned and 16 of your 20 posts are in his defense or talking about how right he was.

Now whether you are Driftboater or not, if you don't like it here go to the other popular fishing boards, couldn't make me happier. By the way, we can also ban people just because we want to, plain and simple. We just usually have a reason for it and the reason I will use for you if it becomes necessary is that you're really getting on my nerves!
