I have fished blue creek for many years. In the summertime I have always been under the impression that if you are fishing in a spot and hook a fish that takes you out of that spot when you return you get to fish where you have been fishing. Wednesday a fish took me down and when I came back there was a guy fishing on a rock directly above where I had been fishing. I moved right back in where I was and he got his panties in an uproar. The guy had been friendly until this happened. He told me that if you moved from a spot for any reason anybody can take it over and that was the way it was for years. I told him that I had never heard that one before and that I did not give up a spot until I limited or started fishing some other spot. He moved back but left soon after. So whats the deal? If he is right I would think that there would be alot less friendly atmosphere down there. I think he just wnted the rock and was willing to try anything to get it.

P.S The longliner was there again wednesday but we only got tangled twice. thursday he was gone and after everybody left the upper spot I slayed em in the upper hole about 10 feet in front of me. The fish were hitting literally 10 feet directly in front of where I was standing. If he only new how many fish were at his feet!

P.S.S The guys fishing the wall past the cliff scaling expedition have been nailing fish every five minutes with quite a few doubles.

that's why it's a good idea to fish with a buddy there. if one of you hooks a fish, the other can kind of take up both of your spots until you get back

I agree. When your done with the spot, then its time to give it up. Ive actualy fished in a guys spot for a few casts untill he got back, but always gave way when they returned.

micropterus101,

The other guy was way off base. If he wanted to fish that spot until you got back, that would be OK but he should have moved as soon as you returned.

Well if you want to start telling stories lets tell both sides. That was me who walked in on the spot and I did it BECAUSE I was fishing it before you even got there. Perhaps you need to get your fishing etiquette in order before you head down to blue creek.
I was simply retying my gear up when you walked in on that spot, that's why I walked back to the spot. IT WAS MINE TO START WITH MY ROCK MY SPOT
Next time I suggest you don't walk into someone elses spot if you don't want the same thing happening to you.

Get a grip man.

Every week you come on here and talk **** about everyone fishing down there. If you don't like the way things are ran down in the ghetto I suggest you move on to greener pastures.

Secondly, a smart ass observation of sorts...the Cowlitz is a huge river with more bank access for the bankie steelheader then any other river within the area.

I, in fact, have found good fishing in the general vicinity of Blue Creek during peak times (with surface flies for steelies of all things) without ever having to deal with another bank maggot YET!!!!...you two are about to come to blows over a 2' x 2' area. confused

you are the man fishinsinsation! micropeter likes to complain because it seems that he only knows how to catch STACKED fishies and can't catch fish on any other river, so the cow is HIS river. micropeter, you would be better off to leave these discussions alone. and stop the cry .

Off with his head!!!!!!!!

This kind of behavior is found every where not only at B.C.
I had my hole stolen by a boater once.
How about that?
The *******s moved in and anchored 25 ft in front of me when he saw me hooking one after another.
I packed lead that day, but it was not worth it.
I still contemplate about this incident each time I go fishing.
"Should I push the issue and make it happen? or just leave with my tail b/w my legs?"
Dammit, I always swallow my pride and moved on like a little sissy.
Oh well its only a stinkin fish.

Peace.

Wow. Sounds like fun. Ive often thought of giving BC a try but it's stories like this that have kept me away. Ain't worth the headache not matter how many fish are there.

confused You must be smokin something nasty!

The guy I am talking about was older then you and walked in an hour after I had been there on Wednesday. He walks in with a kid who netted my first fish and a pitbull blue healer mix. he is headed to Tenino, and he ties some killer yarn flies that he intends to market. He was the only person that did this! Like I said he was a nice guy till he tried to tell me once you left a spot to tie up or take a fish down it was open range even if you came back. I told him I disagreed and it seems that most of the responses I have gotten also disagree.

NOBODY WAS THERE WHEN I STEPPED IN / AND NOBODY SAID EVEN A WHISPER THAT THEY WERE FISHING THERE BEFORE I ARRIVED!!!!!!!!!!!

On Thursday I had no problems whatsoever.

NOBODY WAS THERE WHEN I STEPPED IN / AND NOBODY SAID EVEN A WHISPER THAT THEY WERE FISHING THERE BEFORE I ARRIVED!!!!!!!!!!!

If you big brother works nights four days a week and your dad and little brother was there you were the guy with the sunglasses that reflect red. that fishes like a girl and was stoned out of your mind. That needs a lesson in casting etiquette. There was nobody else there that even looks close to you.

Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

I have a feeling you just like stirring the pot but if you were fishing that rock before I came in. It would have have to been on thursday.

SPEAK THE FU** UP!! I AM NOT A FRICKING PHYSCIC!!!!! If there is nobody there and nobody says anything hows a guy supposed to know
I am not some kind of crazed wacko that going to chew your head off or something.

See ya next week.

P.S the rock sucks I have a better spot now.
