very shallow at lower tides can be done be careful when you hit the sand kingston ramp is a better deal except for parking if you don't mind a little longer run in the boat plus you wont have to deal with the freighter swells smile

Unless you have a small aluminum or fiberglass boat, don't waste your time. Theres no dock, and your at the mercy of the tides. My brother has a 15' smokercraft, and he still has to watch the tides closely.

Now if you have an old POS truck, that you don't care about, you can back 100yds across the beach and launch anytime. laugh

Wonderful boat launch...........
for my drift boat.

If you have any power, launch at Kinston and run up. You'd still get to PNP or the Bar before I would.

I used to use the Eglon ramp all the time. Take your waders. Great proximity to Pilot Pt.

During winter, take your chain saw & peevee.

Led,

That's a big 10-fo. The launch is located at the far west end of the marina complex which is adjacent to and south of the ferry dock. Good ramp with ample parking, nice hose off area and a privy to boot. Best part is you can leave your peavey, shovel, waders and winch at home.

Kingston's new boat ramp is a dandy. And it's only $2 to park your truck & trailer (launch is free).

Pay close attention to the green buoy next to the bottom of the ramp. It's very shallow right next to the ramp. It's almost better to go at low tide when all the mud is exposed.
