Hey folks, Much as I hate to leave my beloved Hanford Reach next weekend, my wife is dragging me (kicking and screaming) to Seattle over the 13th and 14th while she's at a conference. I don't wanna drag my jet boat up there and plop it in the Sound. Any suggestions as to where I can catch some salmon (I'm not picky--I'd even take humpies) or steelhead without a boat this time of year? Thanks, Dan P.S. If anybody wants to trade 1/2 day trips, I'll take you out on the reach sometime.

Just about any area of saltwater will have fish right now. Take your pick. Some of the hotter areas have been Mukilteo, Redondo, and Hood Canal is starting to get some silvers.

Thanks everyone for the info.
Bugle, I actually have to drop my wife off in Tukwila Saturday morning and could easily make it to T-town to meet you. E-mail me at WaAttorney@aol.com and let's see if we can set something up.

You can always hit the beach at Bush Point. I'll be there on the 14th, teaching a couple of friends to fish for salmon. BTW- a huge thank you to all the folks (Jerry Garcia, etc..) who pointed out Bush Point to me!

Bush Point has been a mess recently. I mean guys waiting in line to take your spot when you deal with your catch. The Everett Herald reported Thursday that someone landed a 14.5 lbs. Coho from the beach last weekend @ Bush. Don't get your hopes up - I have yet to personally see one landed over 10 this year. Lots of stories however. The beach fishery is still mostly Pinks. What I have seen is: Kegs on the beach, bon fires, guys yelling at 5:30 a.m. waking up the homeowners, trash, and of course total disrespect by some for the fish they are targeting. Along with barbed hooks, bundling up and taking home a young seal. ? SOME WILD S#*%T I even saw a few guys squeeze out an older homeowner who was attempting to cast a line on his own property. Don't move to Bush Point, I am sure it would be even worse than fishing there! Much like the Quilcene, (and many other locations) the people living near the public access have to put up with the PUBLIC. I am one of them(the public) and hate it. I know the members on this board are likely not the problem, but thought I would post this just FYI...

1. Walk the Clay Bank on low tide. 2. Directly under the Narrows Bridge both sides are good. I don't know about the construction this year? 3. Steillacum beach toward Chambers creek. 4. Fox Island.

IF you fish Bush Point, notice the pink streamers along the beach, and don't cross em without permission. One of the landowners is trying to get access, but with the cooperation so far, there may not even be a fishery there.
Bush Point, can be good, but it is not "all that" unlesss. you have a boat or a floating device.l Be respectful.....
If you must fish there, respect the land owners, it will benefit you in the future, most of them fish! Pick your garbage up and maybe even whatever trash you stumble upon.
It has potential and used to be an awesome place. very limited access is the future, unless it changes.

IronHead's got it right. Might also try the dock on Fox Island, seen some big fish caught off of there before it was condemmed.
Haven't followed the WA regs while being in exile but ala spit, north/west beach, Admirality head, bush pt, Ebey's landing, another pt on west side can't rermember the name...(all on Whidbey), underneath the fox island bridge, northeast side of whidbey has an awesome cutthroat fishery, piers in seattle, pt d boathouse pier, oh yeah, by the "gravel ponds" on the west side of whidbey -- just so. of the ferry landing is good also.
Sincerely, Roger
